Avatar Book 1 is Finished!

Slight Spoiler Alert! Read the chapter first!

Here it is. The last chapter of Book 1. I can hear the screaming already.

What? You stopped in the middle of the book!
Wait! What happened to Tina!?

And from those who know a bit more about writing then I do:

Wait a minute – that wasn’t a proper book! There was no climax, no resolution. How could you?!

So. Here is my answer to all of you who have those and other questions:

The reason why I ended Book one when I did, was because I felt the need to change my writing style a bit. The changes will be, I hope, subtle. But that’s it in a nutshell.

Avatar one was a long book. For me at least. There are about 246 thousand words. Just for comparison, the DaVinci Code has around 140 thousand words. Of course, if the number of words was the only thing that counted, Webster’s unabridged dictionary would make for riveting reading. I hope that you found Book 1 a bit more interesting than a dictionary.

Book Two will start coming out next week. There’s even a side adventure from a different universe that I’ll incorporate at some point (and that’s all I’ll say about that!).

As for sappy New Year stuff? All I can say is that I’m thanking the same list of people that I thanked for Thanksgiving. I’d like to thank the American people in general, but I’m afraid that the person that many of them chose to lead us for the next four years makes that impossible. I’d like to thank my fans though, both those in the USA and those overseas. To those folks overseas, all I can say is I’m sorry: I didn’t vote for him.

Finally, I hope that you continue to enjoy the adventures of the Avatar crew in the upcoming new year.
